Maybe Now by Colleen Hoover

Maybe Now by Colleen Hoover
Cover Art From Goodreads

Up to this point, I've read ALMOST everything CoHo has written, and while this one was NOT my favorite (none of them have been able to top It Ends With Us), it was still a pretty good one. I read the first book in this series,  Maybe Someday because I was talking about it for a program I was doing aimed at 20 Somethings, and I remember being frustrated with the main characters. I hated how that book ended for the girlfriend, Maggie. Not only was she suffering from an incurable disease, her boyfriend of six years cheated on her! It made it harder for me to root for the pairing of Ridge and Sydney, which was sort of the point.

Fast forward to this book... Sydney and Ridge are still together, and Maggie is able to move on and meet someone new. Someone who looks like Captain America! #ChrisEvansIsBae, so ya girl definitely got her HEA. I liked that there was closure and friendship between Maggie and Sydney, and that Sydney apologized for her part in the breakup, though I think she could have done that a little sooner, but I digress. I don't know that I really think 20 something year olds would be able to act so maturely, so it felt a little unrealistic to me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It's kinda like reading a Danielle Steel novel... this is not a world I inhabit, but I enjoy it all the same.

Music plays a big part in this couple's story so I enjoyed the inclusion of the song lyrics, and I was grateful for the fact that the sex scenes weren't over the top, since I read this while I was on the desk at work. All in all this was a good, quick read that fans of Colleen Hoover's other books are sure to enjoy. I look forward to reading Verity by her, which is the only book of hers I haven't read yet.

4 out of 5 stars!
