Something That Could Last by Ashley Cade

Something That Could Last
Cover Art Copied From GoodReads

*I received this book as an ecopy from NetGalley. These are my opinions alone.*

At first, I wasn't sure what to think about this one. I was immediately drawn by the cover, and the blurb sounded interesting, so I figured, why not. It was slow getting into it, and I almost DNF'd because it was slow going. I'm not usually an insta love kind of girl, and the fact that these two met and fell in love within two weeks. It almost seemed longer than that based on the number of dates the two of them went on. It took me a minute before I realized it was only a two week time frame because of that.

Eventually I started to warm up to the characters of Abby and Jacob. I never really liked Luke, and didn't feel sorry for him when we found out that he fell for a girl who wasn't interested in him. K A R M A. I thought the love between the two characters (once I got to know them a bit better) was sweet, and the fact that they didn't immediately hop into each others' pants helped make it a bit sweeter. There were a few sex scenes (to be expected in a New Adult book) but nothing so graphic that I would be scared to read it at my desk at work. I enjoyed visiting the world of these characters, and was mad when it ended on a cliffhanger. I look forward to the second book in this series.

This book is a good read for fans of Abbi Glines and Colleen Hoover. I can see it being something that our library purchases for our 20 Somethings collection.

3/5 STARS
